Job Title: McKay Scrap Saw Operator
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operates scrap saw
2. Examines all scrap tubing generated and cuts out all prime material
3. Generates tags and places tags on bundles
4. Maintains prime shorts inventory and scrap tubing bundles in an organized manner
5. Assists mill crew with change over after all scrap tubing has been sorted
6. Daily cleans scrap saw and storage areas
Additional Duties:
1. Follows company safety policies and safe work practices at all times
2. Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation with other employees and supervisors
3. Learns to work another station on the mill
Minimum Qualifications:
The employee in this position must have sufficient reading, writing, and basic mathematics knowledge to perform essential duties such as tagging and paperwork. The employee must also have the ability to operate machinery.
Physical Demands:
This employee is required to work in a manufacturing plant environment around moving machinery. The employee will be standing/walking consistently throughout the day. The job requires lifting up to 100 pounds, and pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds. Other activities include bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, or reaching.
Equipment:
This position requires the operation of the scrap saw. Use of other tools and equipment may also be required.
